IIT professor to review Odisha sewerage

An IIT-Kharagpur professor has been invited by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to inspect and review the plans taken by the Odisha government to improve the sewerage system in the state.

KOLKATA: An IIT-Kharagpur professor has been invited by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to inspect and review the plans taken by the Odisha government to improve the sewerage system in the state.
Professor Makarand Madhao Ghangrekar of the civil engineering department, who is also the professor-in-charge of water works at IIT-Kharagpur, will travel to Puri for the inspection job.

“Sewerage treatment plants, suction pumps and sewerage lines will be installed and made functional by June 15, 2015. We seek an expert report on the entire plan. For this, we request Prof Ghangrekar to visit Puri. The state government shall provide all assistance to him and ensure that he completes the inspection and reviews the projected plans,” the NGT said on Tuesday.
